BIOGRAPHY

Janice Rabie is a painter who lives and works in Cape Town, South Africa. She graduated from the Michaelis School of Fine Art in 1981, majoring in sculpture. Since then she has worked primarily as a ceramicist, producing both functional ware and sculptures. Her work sells both nationally and abroad. Her delicate porcelain mugs are in homes all over the world. 

In 2007 she started devoting more time to painting in oils, and held her first solo exhibition in 2014. In 2012 she won the prize for the best overall work in the Vuluka Art Competition. Her work has shown in various galleries including the AVA, IS Art, the Cape Gallery, the Art Business and Gallery One11. Her paintings are in collections in Cape Town, Sydney, Israel and London.

She is also a graduate of the SA College of Music, University of Cape Town.
